The name of our organization was inspired by the German influenced town we hail from, New Braunfels, Texas. "Kinder" means children in German and therefore we are an organization that focuses not only on moms but being engaged and active with our children.
We are for ALL moms, whether you've chosen to be a stay-at-home mom or to work outside the home.
We are non-denominational and welcome those of all faiths.
At KinderMoms you are always invited as all events are open to all members. Our rsvp system through meetup.com allows us to set the @ of participants but ensures that everyone gets an equal opportunity to rsvp for the events or playdates.
Sub-groups such as bookclubs, scrapbooking, etc. are always welcomed but must follow guidelines to ensure that there is fairness for all. Those wanting to lead such groups are required to contact an Organizer who can help to ensure that all members are notified.
We will never cap KinderMoms at a certain number. Members come and go as their children grow so our numbers will always fluctuate.
You can participate as much or as little as you want as long as you follow our guidelines for rsvping to playdates and events.

KinderMoms was founded in January of 2005 by Susan Lecher.  Originally called Moms & Tots, we began with just a few devoted moms who believed in connecting with others in the community. From the very beginning we've used the online tools through Meetup.com to help us grow and we're still growing.  We changed our name in 2009 when we became an registered business with the city of New Braunfels.  We have a set of Organizers, who together with our Founder, work to provide fun, kid-friendly monthly events.  We then ask our members to host playdates to fill in the holes. It's this team effort that allows us to fill our calendars each month with fun, kid- friendly events and playdates!
