Connecting the moms of New Braunfels and helping them to cultivate new friendships while engaging with our children in community and fun.

How We Began 

Kinder Moms was founded in January of 2005 by Susan Lecher. What began as a way for one mom to meet others has blossomed and grown into in the last 4 years to the group we are today. At the time of Kinder Moms beginning, there were not many outlets for moms looking to connect with others that also involve their children and happened during the daytime. We are definitely about being involved with our children and also being a part of our community. It's through the tools at Meetup.com that Kinder Moms has been able to evolve to what it is today. It was firstly called Moms & Tots but was changed to Kinder Moms when it became a legitimate business registered with the city of New Braunfels in 2009. Together with our Founder, we have a set of Organizers who help keep everything running smoothly and to coordinate events and playdates but it is with our members continued support and participation that we have such an awesome and supportive group. The Organizers help to put together fun events each month for the group to attend but the type of events range depending on the season and what is happening in our community. We then ask the members to "host" playdates to fill in the holes.  It is this combination and team effort that enables us to fill our calendars each month with fun events!

All About Playdates

Playdates have become an important part of our group for many reasons. The main reason is that since we have a very large group, when we have main group events that are in public venues such as park it can be difficult to hold a decent conversation with anyone.  By having in-home hosted playdates it allows for a smaller gathering of members and a better opportunity to really get to know another mother.  Moms who choose to host a playdate can decide the day/time, how many to invite, location, and if they'd like an all-ages or age-specific playdate. The different age-based playgroups we have are listed below:

Message Board 

One of the things that keeps us all connected and up-to-date with eachother is our groups message board and monthly events calendar. These tools are hosted through Meetup.com and have become an intrigual part of KinderMoms. With our message board, moms can ask questions about various topics and those who have advice can share their wisdom.  After over 5 years of conversation, we've shared alot of our message board and it's all there to be re-read when needed and added to. There is always new and interesting topics being discussed.

Monthly Calendar

Our calendar is the place to see what's happening and where for each month. We strive to keep plenty of fun activities on it for each month and to utilize the great resources we have here in New Braunfels. The KinderMoms Organizers do their best to plan 2-3 main group events per month that happen out in our community at various venues.
